This shirt is dedicated to a local pit that still has an important role to play in keeping the memories and stories of our brave ancestors alive - Astley Green Colliery.
From 1912 - 1970, this pit's brave brotherhood descended deep into the darkness below the Chat Moss peat bog.
The colliery site is now a Scheduled Monument, boasting the only surviving headgear & engine house which both stand proudly silhouetted on the skyline, towering over the legendary Lancashire Mining Museum (LMM).
The red and white of the Astley Green shirt are an ode to the Lancashire rose and the LMM.
